Welcome to the New York Organ Donor Network’s volunteer section. And thank you for your interest in supporting our life-saving cause.

We depend on our “army of volunteers,” as we sometimes call them. We can’t accomplish our work on our own.

Volunteers include donor family members, transplant recipients, living donors, as well as other individuals whose lives have been touched by donation and transplantation.

We focus our efforts on the five boroughs of New York City; Long Island; and the counties north of New York City, all the way through to Poughkeepsie.

When you volunteer with us, you’ll be rewarded with the satisfaction of knowing that you have contributed to something greater than yourself.

Volunteer Opportunities

The New York Organ Donor Network offers a variety of ways in which volunteers can make best use of their talents while helping us to save lives through donation, including:

• Public Speaking: Volunteer speakers educate health care professionals and the general public by sharing their personal stories and dispelling myths about organ donation.
• Donor Registry Drives: An important role for volunteers is to help the Donor Network increase enrollments on the New York State Donate Life Registry.

There are also literally countless other ways you can give your time in our office and online from home; the only limit is your imagination.

• Returning Volunteer Refreshers Courses
