

| In terms of the 1998 Routine Referral Law, the New York Organ Donor Network is legally responsible for contacting the next of kin of all patients who die in a hospital in the Greater New York metropolitan area, so that the option of tissue donation may be considered. That means that we contact more than 50,000 next of kin over a course of a year. |
