Black History Month

The New York Organ Donor Network is celebrating Black History Month during February 2010 by partnering with the Metro Manhattan Chapter of the LINKS organization to increase the number of individuals who sign up to become organ donors on the
New York State Donate Life Registry.

LINKS is an international nonprofit organization of 12,000 African-American women, dedicated to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African-Americans and persons of African ancestry.

The LINKS partnership with the Donor Network will kick off the 2010 celebration of Black history Month with a screening of the documentary“Closing the Gap: African-Americans Journey to Organ and Tissue Transplantation,” which will take place at North General Hospital in Harlem on February 25 at 6 p.m. Admission is free. Please contact Karen Cummings at 646-291-4454 for more information and to make your reservation for this informative event.
