- To coincide with the season of giving, the New York Organ Donor Network invites all of our current and new Workplace Partners to participate in this year’s 12 Weeks of Giving. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the program extends from November 2, 2007 through January 25, 2008.
- 12 Weeks of Giving seeks to register 400,000 new organ donor designations nationwide by the end of the 12-week period. Your and your employer’s participation is critical in helping to save the lives of more than 7,000 New Yorkers in the metropolitan area on the national transplant waiting list.
- There are many ways to mark the campaign and a variety of best practices in which you may consider engaging to increase enrollments on the New York State Organ & Tissue Donor Registry.
- For example, corporations, hospitals and organizations can select dates to give employees five minutes to consider becoming an organ, eye and tissue donor.
- Your company may wish to invite the Donor Network to a health fair or even conduct a payroll stuffer.
