New York, NY, January 30, 2010-At its Employee Recognition Celebration in Manhattan last night, the New York Organ Donor Network honored three employees who each completed 20 years of service at the organ procurement organization, and combined, have dedicated 60 years to the mission of saving lives through donation. They are Tony Delli Carpini, director of financial services; Miriam Perez, public and professional education specialist, and Alfrieda Singleton, clerical assistant.
The Recognition Celebration took place at Providence on West 57th Street. The location where Providence now operates has a storied New York history. The Manhattan Baptist Church was established there in the 1920s and enjoyed a four decade-long stay, until the space became the world-famous Media Sound Studios. Next came Le Bar Bat, which was the quintessential New York City nightlife hot spot of the 1990, where performers like Jimi Hendrix, Billy Joel, John Lennon, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra, and Barbra Streisand recorded some of their most important albums
