WAHEED TAJIK IS NAMED DIRECTOR OF QUALITY ASSURANCE AND PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT AT THE NEW YORK ORGAN DONOR NETWORK
New York, NY, September 26, 2007: The New York Organ Donor Network has announced the appointment of Waheed Tajik, BSN as the agency’s Director of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement. In this position, Mr. Tajik will also be responsible for the organ procurement organization’s corporate compliance program.
Mr. Tajik joins the Donor Network from the Mary Manning Walsh Home in New York where, as the Director of Quality Management, he acted as liaison between the Catholic Health Care System Corporate Board and the facility. Among his areas of responsibility at the home was oversight of CDC and CMS regulatory standards, as well as compliance with regulatory standards at the state level. He has held educational positions at various academic institutions and has also taught Standards of Care at professional agencies.
Prior to his most recent engagement at Mary Manning Walsh Home, Mr. Tajik spent the first half of 2002 as the home’s Nurse Manager. From mid-2002 through the end of 2005, he was the facility’s Director of Quality Management. In 2006, he was Corporate Director of Performance Improvement, Community Services at the Jewish Home and Hospital in New York.
Mr. Tajik holds a BSN degree from Hunter College in New York, and an Associate in Applied Science in Nursing from the Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York. Mr. Tajik, who was a licensed Medical Doctor in Pakistan after graduating from Ayub Medical College at the University of Peshawar, is currently completing a Master of Science in Health Care Management at New York University.
