(New York, N.Y.) September 12, 2006 - Deon Stewart-Miles has been appointed director of clinical operations at the New York Organ Donor Network. Ms. Stewart-Miles, who has been employed at the Donor Network since September 1995, held the position of interim director from May this year when the previous director, Rob Kochik, was tapped as the Donor Network’s first-ever director of donor referral and recovery services.
Dr. Eric Grossman, the Donor Network’s medical director, said, “Ms. Stewart-Miles has done an excellent job over the past four months in her role as interim director. During this time, she helped implement several successful changes and procedures. We are very pleased to make this appointment, as Ms. Stewart-Miles has consistently proven to be a highly competent member of our clinical team, first as a transplant coordinator, a senior transplant coordinator, and then, since August 1999, as a clinical manager. It is a well-deserved promotion within the ranks of our organization.”
Prior to joining the New York Organ Donor Network, Ms. Stewart-Miles was a nurse in the adult intensive care unit at Harlem Hospital.
Ms. Stewart-Miles was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the City College of New York in 1993.
