MY HUSBAND, MY BEST FRIEND
So many songs come to mind when trying to express my feelings for Jim. Garth Brooks, “The Dance” probably says it all about our short time together as husband and wife. If I knew how it would end … it was still worth the pain.
Jim truly enjoyed life. He loved the outdoors: fishing, sailing, biking, running, walking (with me), photography, gardening, yard sales, Yankee Games, the list goes on.
I want you to know he was not only my husband; he was a son, a brother, a father, an uncle and co-worker, most importantly a “Tissue Donor”.
I have comfort and new friends because Jim became a tissue donor. He died of a heart attack. He was able to donate his corneas and tissue. One cornea was given to a woman in California, Audrey. Without it, she would not continue to enjoy her life as a mom and grandmother and my new friend.
Remember, Life is what Happens when you’re busy making other plans.
