Serena was born in New York City and lived most of her life in Queens and Long Island. She also lived two years in Kansas where she graduated high school. She attended S.U.N.Y. Old Westbury while working part-time in King Kullen. Serena also worked as an administrative assistant for a year and a half and was to have started employment with the Suffolk County Department of Labor a week after she passed.
Serena was an avid reader and was never without a book on her person. She was generous, kind-hearted and a good friend to everyone. She loved life and a part of her will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
