SUSAN CASEY
10-14-52 - 11-11-97
The photo of Susan was taken at Senica Lake while we were on vacation. Pinky was the cat that she adored, so I knew she would want me to include it on her square.

Susan had a very affectionate laugh and a caring heart. She loved all of life and wanted every living being and creature to enjoy his or her lives, even the lowly cricket. She brought 25 crickets from the pet store so they would not be fed to the birds for dinner. Susan said "I want them to enjoy their remaining time on Earth and not be terrorized during that time". While I watched, she set them free in our back yard.

While Susan set the crickets free, I thought about a story my great-aunt Margo told me of an 11-year-old girl in Puerto Rico. When the evening tide washed-up hundreds of snails onto the beach, this girl frantically ran around throwing them back into the sea. A local fisherman saw her doing this and asked, "What are you doing?" The girl told him she was throwing them back so they could live. The fisherman told her there were too many snails and in no way could she save them all; she would never make a difference. The girl replied "But I will make a difference to the ones I do throw back".

I'm 100% certain that Susan was that little girl, if not in Puerto Rico than in Ireland-definitely in spirit.

I love and miss Susan terribly. She convinced me that we would meet again in the after life. From our spiritual talks, I realize God sent me an angel for 5½ years to guide me. Susan will greet me with a smile and hug when I pass her way.

With Love,
Steve J Ferchak, Fiancée
