I was asked to write this story in honor of you so here it goes.
I still think of you and miss you. I miss your laughter, the joy that always came along with your presence.
I think of how unfair it was for you to be taken away from us, especially your parents. I still see the emptiness in their eyes. Thirteen years, little brother, thirteen years was too short to leave a lifetime of sorrow.
At first I was really mad and hurt and I blamed God for making you pass, but I guess you were too good to live on this earth. God made you truly good, innocent. I can say this now that time has passed, that you were an angel put here to enlighten our lives and I'm honored, we're honored to have been blessed with your presence, even if it was only for a short time.
I sometime think of what you must be doing up there in heaven. Are you still playing tricks? Maybe sticking a grape into God's sandals so that he can squish it when he steps down, or maybe the aroma of a stink bomb fills the air as you laugh quietly to yourself. These are the memories that I have of you, playful and innocent.
I still think of you and cry because I miss you and wish that you were still here. I carry your picture in my heart always and though we've never seen you grow into a man, we'll always cherish your memories as a child.
We were proud to find out that Pito was going to be part of your quilt. When we saw his photo it was like seeing him alive once again, it's a feeling we can't express. On behalf of his family and friends, thank you for letting his memories live on. God bless.
