Religious Leaders and Clergy

Here we dispel the commonly held belief that most religions oppose organ and tissue donation. We explain how major religions fully support donation or allow their congregants the option to become donors. We also describe the New York Organ Donor Network's efforts to gather support from religious leaders in the New York metropolitan area.

Download articles in support of donation by Edward Cardinal Egan, Rev. Dr. James Forbes, Jr. Rabbi Moshe Tendler, Sheikh Omar S. Abu-Namous, and Prof. Robert Thurman.

Locate references to sacred text that can be utilized as a guide to organ and tissue donation.
