| Trained Consent Coordinators interact respectfully with families to provide them with the opportunity to donate tissues.
Once family authorization is obtained and a medical and social review of the donor is completed, a team of highly skilled medically-trained staff conduct the recovery under sterile conditions. Tissue is then conveyed to tissue
banks for preparation and distribution to patients as needed. This department also includes the Donor Network’s preservation unit.
